A$AP Rocky Appears To Have Slapped Fan
Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky has been captured on video footage appearing to slap a female fan at a concert in Australia. In the clip, A$AP Rocky walks through the crowd, as fans grab at him. After a female fan reaches down from her seat and taps the rapper on the head and blows him a kiss, Rocky appears to turn around the slap the woman in the face and then points to her.
The footage is reportedly from Friday, June 28th, at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, Australia.
The rapper has not come forward to address the incident or explain the footage.
50 Cent Denies Assaulting Woman
50 Cent says he didn't kick his baby's mother during an argument last month. According to TMZ, the rapper was charged with domestic violence following a dispute with the woman at her Toluca Lake home. He is accused of kicking her and destroying property in a fit of rage. He was allegedly charged with misdemeanor domestic violence and 4 counts of misdemeanor vandalism.
50 Cent's attorney released an official statement.
"Curtis Jackson [50 Cent] denies these allegations as made against him. It is important to note, Mr. Jackson has not been arrested and there is no warrant outstanding for his arrest."
"We have been in contact with the LA City Attorney's Office and are currently conducting our own investigation into these allegations."
50 is due in court to be arraigned on July 22.
Timbaland Says New Jay-Z Album Is His Best
Jay-Z has had several critically-acclaimed albums throughout his career, but according to one of his collaborators, the new Magna Carta Holy Grail trumps them all. Timbaland spoke to Revolt TV about the project, which he produced most of, and said that it's the hip-hop star's best work.
"This is the best Jay-Z album thus far," Timbaland said. "I told [Jay-Z], all the Blueprintalbums, those were good, but this is your first big album for the new millennium."
"This is hip-hop at its finest -- it's gonna change hip-hop," Timbo continued. "Y'all gonna get in your car and be like, 'This is a good a** album.'"
Eminem Turned Down Blockbuster Role
Despite the critical acclaim he received for his performance in8 Mile over a decade ago, hip-hop star Eminem has been in no rush to return to Hollywood. It was revealed this week that the Detroit born rapper was offered the lead role in the upcoming sci-fi blockbusterElysium but turned it down.
Em supposedly walked away from the project because it wouldn't film in Detroit.
Director Neil Blomkamp ultimately went with his third choice, Oscar-nominated actor Matt Damon.
South African rapper Ninja was also considered for the part, and he also turned down the role due to location.
Jay-Z Discusses Racism In America
Jay-Z spoke about race relations in his recent interview with BBC-1. The hip hop superstar shared his thoughts on the controversial George Zimmerman case and said that the world looks to America to live up to its ideals.
"Everyone outside of America was like, 'Wow.' There was a time when people were getting this sort of aversion to America like, 'You preach these ideals but you don't really practice them.' You know?" he said. "That was a major turn for us to be like, 'Maybe it is the things that they profess, the land of the free and the home of the brave."
"Everyone's getting a shot, any color or creed.' We dealt with racism in America, in that way, that there's a Black president," he told BBC Radio 1. "It still exists, as we see with Trayvon and Zimmerman trial that's going on. Of course it exists but we've dealt with that in some way. We have to deal with sexism of course. That's the next thing."
Jay-Z and Beyonce Attend Trayvon Rally
Citizens in more than 100 U.S. cities marched in protest against Stand Your Ground laws in support of Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old black boy who was shot and killed by George Zimmerman last year. Zimmerman wasn't initially charged and was eventually acquitted of the murder due to Florida's controversial Stand Your Ground law. Among those protesting were superstars Jay-Z and Beyonce, who attended a Manhattan rally with Rev. Al Sharpton and Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon's mother.
"Jay-Z and Beyonce said they didn't want to speak and they didn't come for a photo op," said Sharpton. "Jay-Z told me, 'I'm a father. Beyoncé is a mother.' We all feel the pain and apprehension – the laws must protect everybody, or it doesn't protect anybody ... We do not come from hate, we come from love of children."
Zimmerman was found not guilty of second degree murder or manslaughter.
Snoop Launching His Own Dog Food Brand
Snoop Lion appeared on the late night talk show "Chelsea Lately" recently, and the former Snoop Dogg revealed that he's launching a new business venture. His latest endeavor is called Dog For Dog, and it's a dog food that can be consumed by dog and human being alike.
Dog For Dog will send a bag to an animal shelter in need, after every official purchase.
"It's a great cause see because what people don't understand is that a lot of these shelters, they execute these dogs not because they don't have a place or someone that wants to adopt them, it's more about they don't have food to feed them." Snoop said.
It is unclear when the product will be made officially available.
Kanye & Britney Attacked the Same Guy
It turns out the photographer that Kanye West got into a highly-publicized altercation with last week is the same exact paparazzo that pushed Britney Spears over the edge back in 2007. During the infamous meltdown that Spears was having at the time, the photographer--dubbed "Dano"--reportedly became very aggressive with the pop star on the street. She reacted by banging on his SUV with her umbrella.
He snapped photos of the incident and made a fortune. He also sold the umbrella and the vehicle on eBay.
Kanye could face assault charges for physically confronting Dano at LAX last week. It was reported that West was also provoked into the confrontation.
